Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Conducts requirements gathering, use case definitions and testing of Subscriptions projects as directed by Director of Subscriptions and Director of Subscriptions Management Systems. Performs spreadsheet analysis and conducts software testing. Provides support for process-mapping. Works with Subscriptions and Business Systems Management Groups, Internal Systems, Client Services and Product Managers. Uses knowledge of commonly-used relational database concepts, practices, and procedures to provide support for data transformation, testing, troubleshooting, creating reports, and end-user support.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES Develop SQL queries, excel analysis, and reports as required to meet on-going business needs in Subscriptions.o Work with cross-team resources involved in an assigned project and complete tasks for successful completion of project. o Creates enhancement requests for suggested improvements in Subscriptions systems. Reviews these requests with Subs global team, Director of Subscriptions, and Director of SMS.o Tests enhancements post-development to make sure system meets end user needs, meets specifications and is error free. Assures quality control including regularly updating and maintaining procedures.o Gathers feedback from Subscriptions Team for future enhancements and ways to increase timeliness, accuracy, relevance, and comprehensiveness. Acts as a liaison between Subscriptions group and BSMG project managers and/or developers to correct bugs in systems and follows up with end users.o Provides training and functional support to Subscriptions Department. o Document Subscriptions processes and procedures. Update Subscriptions SharePoint documentation when system enhancements are implemented. Develop flow charts of Subscriptions Processes.


Required Skills:
Education BS in software engineering, Computer Science, Finance or a related field

Experience Prior SNL experience, technical training or at least two years experience in an analytical capacity and project management capacity preferred. Experience managing/leading software products utilizing different technical platforms. Prior corporate finance or investment banking experience preferred.

Specific Skills Strong understanding of Microsoft SQL or equivalent databases is required. Proficient in Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel. Knowledge of SNL systems preferred. Knowledge and understanding of SNL database and corporate structure, systems, products, and services preferred. Strong verbal and written English skills are required.

Special knowledge, licenses, etc Good project management skills. PMI coursework or certification helpful. High level understanding of databases and programming. Basic understanding of financial concepts required. Understanding of product lifecycles, creating specifications, designing mockups preferred.

Abilities Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts. Ability to interface well with IT staff and other non-technical members of the organization. Strong organizational skills required to prioritize work and meet established deadlines. Ability to write procedures and documentation. Must be highly motivated, aggressive, quick and very detail oriented. Must be self-directed and rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Must be committed to exceptional customer service and support. Must possess strong problem analysis and decision-making ability. Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies.
